Alan has been a DSUA member since 2015 and currently works a Maintenance Superintendent at SCE&G Cope Generating Station. Alan served in the US Navy and then graduated from University of South Carolina with his B.S in Exercise Science with minors in Chemistry and Biology. He started work in Electric Operations at SCE&G in December of 1989 and transferred to SCE&G Wateree Station in January of 1991. There he worked as a Journeyman Mechanic and promoted to Foreman, Supervisor and finally Maintenance Superintendent. Alan was transferred to Cope Generating Station in May of 2014 where he oversees the plant budgeting, plant process optimization and maintenance to include mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and planning/scheduling disciplines. The majority of his career has been focused on units with wet scrubbers that possess similar opportunities with regards to corrosion, erosion and preventative maintenance of back end equipment.
